The two small churches of St. Zoni and St.Nikolas are a pretty sight where they sit close together among greenery in central Famagusta. Beautifully designed with several towers that carry round roofs the churches are of Franco-Byzantine architecture with elements of Gothic design. The old stone material blends into the environment and create a picture-perfect setting. St Nikolaos church is in ruins while St Zoni church is better preserved, however both an intriguing sight.

Believed to have been built in the late medieval times both churches are originally Orthodox. During the Ottoman time the churches were probably used for other purposes as few Christians were around in central Famagusta during that time period. Today this is the perfect spot to indulge in the history and beauty of Cyprus.
